Easily got 4 inches of snow yesterday. In a picturesque setting for some great pictures, should have brought a better one other than my iPhone. Anyway here they are.

1st Bike Ride

Decided to do something different. Got out of the barracks and decided to explore a little bit of the surrounding area. Found some restaurants and saw four deer just grazing.....if only I had my rifle with me. Anyway here are the pics.

Merry Christmas from Germany

I miss you guys and wish I could be there. So from the bottom of my heart I wish you a Merry Christmas. Amidst being physically alone in Europe I did however keep one of my favorite movies alive and well while I waited for my family 6 hours behind to wake up. So this was my morning......

Winter of the soul

Just really identify with this. "You were on the cross" by Matt Maher. Wondering where God is right now. Just finding it really hard to believe that my circumstance has a purpose. I know it hasn't even been a full month but just really could use a friend right now, right here, fellow rocker. I know if I turn and run the other way, I'm just going to find myself rolling in my own dung. This hurts guys....

Lyrics:

Lost. Everything is lost
And everything I’ve loved before is gone Alone, like the coming of the frost And a cold winter's chill in my stony heart

Where were You when all that I’ve hoped for Where were You when all that I’ve dreamed Came crashing down in shambles around me You were on the cross

Pain. Could You take away the pain If I find someone to blame Would it make my life seem easier Alone, all my friends are asleep And I can't find anyone to stay awake with me

And where were You when sin stole my innocence Where were You when I was ashamed Hiding in a life I wish I’d never made

You were on the cross My God, my God All along, all along You were on the cross You died for us

All along, all along You were on the cross Victorious All along, all along

You were there in all my suffering You were there in doubt and fear I'm waiting on the dawn to reappear

Behind the Song:
'In the Laments of Job, you get this sense of, “everything is lost, everything is gone, everything that I have worked so hard for, everything that I had been blessed with and I have sores all over me” - I think most people don't really stop to imagine what that must have been like for Job. I got to thinking ‘God where were you when this happened? He was on the cross. I realized that not only is the cross in and of itself the atonement for all sin, but the way in which it happened is now a means by which all human suffering becomes a transformational moment. It does not matter how dark your situation is - God himself has been there and as you grieve it and morn it you can find consolation in him because he was there.' - Matt Maher

Mannheimer Weinachtsmarkt

 Hello Friends,
Had a major boost to morale today. Recreated a childhood memory by going with some friends to the Mannheim Christmas market. This was always one of my favorite memories of Germany. Great food, Hot drinks, and an experience of German culture. I've heard it said at work and will put it into practice you have got to explore Germany. This country is beautiful!
Interesting Architecture on an overpass on Autobahn
Riding on the Autobahn and getting great views of the German country side. Passed Deutchen WineStraBe (different looking B over here makes an "S" sound). Basically means German Wine Street.
Tower I very vividly remember from my childhood.

I swam in that in the summertime when I was younger.
